MOCA Events and Designs is a full-service Event Decorating and Planning Service based in Washington, DC. It was started by two friends, Risa and Kim who's love for designs and events started in church. We have been designing and coordinating events for our church family for more than 15 years. We pride ourselves on making each event stress free, highly customized and unique. Where It All Started
Risa
My passion and love for designs and event planning started in church over 15 years ago. It all started when I was asked to decorate for a funeral repast, yes a repast. I wanted to take a sad occasion and make something beautiful for the family. Seeing the family happy and feeling better during such a sad time made me feel good. Decorating for funerals lead to the families asking me to design and coordinate birthday parties, baby showers and weddings. I believe that every special event deserves to be stunning. With this philosophy in mind I founded Moca Events and Designs with my best friend, Kim. I’ll work day and night to guarantee that your next event will be filled with unforgettable moments.
Kim
My love for decorating was discovered by accident. I began helping my best friend, Risa, decorate for one of the many functions held at our church just to stay busy. It was at that time I realized that I got joy out of turning an empty room into a beautiful masterpiece. There is nothing better than seeing a bride's face light up when she walks into her reception for the first time or seeing guests admire the centerpiece that you have created with love. I am a native of Maryland and I currently work as a Registered Nurse on Capitol Hill. I am married with three children.
